Liver and terrain support with pH
The liver is the master of the metabolic balance in the body. It creates substances that we need, converts sugars to fats and proteins, and vice versa, makes many amino acids we need and processes wastes and toxins for excretion. In Chinese medicine, the liver is also asociated with the free flow of emotion, and with anger, and as anger turned inward, depression.
Modern-day living has been hard on the liver. Processed and convienience food, high sugar levels, high fructose levels, metal toxins, constipation, overconsumption of alcohol, obesity, ilicit and pharmaceutical drugs can all cause the liver to become functionally stressed, and for overacidification of the body to occur.
Liver support:
Really helps with toxin elimination.
Using pH to support the liver.
pH is a useful measure of the acid/ alkali balance of the body. A pH of 7 (6-8) is neutral, pH lower than 6 is acid, higher than 8 is alkaline. Urine should have a value of around 5.8, reflecting the body’s excretion of acids created as a byproduct of metabolism and dealing with toxins. pH of urine above 6 is indicative of a lack of ability to rid the body of acids. These building up create a lot of stress on the liver and body.
Saliva pH is a reflection of the acidity of body fluids. It should have a first morning pH of 7. A saliva pH below 6.6 indicates the body is not eliminating acids as it should and is using up its alkaline reserve.
You can use pH testing to see if you need liver support, or need to change your dose.
To get accurate (baseline) values:
You will need a small roll of pH paper with a 5-8 pH range. Values are taken, immediately upon waking, before food, drink, brushing the teeth, or exercise. No supplements, especially minerals, are taken after noon of the previous day. First morning values reflect the longest period of steady state (no change) that we see in the human body.
Urine pH above 5.8 pH. Not enough acids are being eliminated and the system is or is becoming too acidic. Excess acids in the system stress the body, increase inflammation, can show liver stress. Liver support measures are needed, or if already been taken, the dose needs to increase.
Urine pH below 5.8 pH. The system is too acidic, but too much of that acid is being eliminated at once and is stressing the kidneys and liver. Decrease the dose of Liver support herbs and mushrooms. Look at the liver support measures listed above. Check that bowel movements are happening often enough. Check for gut parasites. You are looking for any reason causing an overproduction of acids.
Normal Saliva pH is 7. This means the body’s alkaline reserve is strong and that the system is not being overwhelmed by excess acidity.
Saliva pH above 7.4. Usually signals an emergency discharge of the body’s alkaline reserves in response to an acute over acid insult of some kind. This can also point to intestinal toxicity and the need for Mayr Cure. Liver support herbs and mushrooms are useful as is looking for the cause of the insult.
Saliva pH below 7. Reveals systemic acidity, our nemesis. Acidity is 32 times more potent than alkalinity: it takes 32 units of a liquid at pH 11 to bring one unit of a liquid at pH 3 (Coca Cola) to neutral at pH 7. Giving alkaline minerals is therefore a very slow and inefficient way to restore the alkaline reserve compared to draining the acids. Draining the acids, achieved with Biologo Balance, in combination with good diet, is at least 32 times more effective at bringing and acid saliva pH back to normal than giving something like Alkala. Take or increase dose of liver support herbs and mushrooms.
